Geno's Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich are very good. I know some people think they're the Best Cheese steak Sandwiches in Philly. So if you're in Philadelphia take the test, Buy one at Geno's and one at the place right across the Street. I'm hungry just thinking about this. Enjoy!!

The location has no parking and take cash only. The individual took our order rushed us into ordering. The personnel taking the customers orders needs some retraining because they don’t seem to like what they do for a living. The food is good in size but it’s not amazing.

After hearing so much about the original Philly cheasestake I expected something better. The bread was way too fluffy and the American cheese way too little. Moreover, I though the steak would be cut in smaller chunks. In overall although juicy and tasty I believe it's overrated. Maybe I need to give it another try.

Came here from an add I saw on a walking tour. Great cheese steak, only think keeping me from giving a 5 star was the customer service. To go to the window and no hi just a "what do you want." Not a friendly environment. The second window to get your drinks was also a bit rude. The women didn't get our drinks right. She didn't seem to care and felt as she gave that vibe of you get what you get.

Best cheese steaks and cheese fries. Going there is a treat.

Best cheese steak sandwiches in Philly! I promise anyone that goes here won't be disappointed. So if you're in Philly and you want to try out an original delicious cheese steak sandwich. Geno's is where it's at.

If you go to Philadelphia you need to try them. They lived up to the hype in my option all the way. I’m not the biggest fan of cheesesteaks but this place made them really good and much better than I’ve ever had in New York.

Don't know how anyone can give them below 5 stars..awesome cheesesteak with the big peppers. Yes the lines are long and u should absolutely know what u are getting when its your turn.

If you cared about your product, you would realize that in this day and age all philly cheese... deserve onion, pepper and mushroom as a god given recipe, unless otherwise specified, your markup is Agregious.

I'm gonna give Geno's Steaks the 5 stars vs the competitors in the area (I've tried them all). Always a line, never a table, and completely worth it. Delicious quality, awesome rolls, love the wiz, always coming back

This place really did feel like I was at a famous land mark! So many people were there lining up to get the Philly Cheesesteak that is world renowned. Even though the lines were long the service was quick! I can tell the guy working at the register was used to people who are normals around those parts. He was so ready to shoot through my order and I was still caught up in all that was going on around me. Luckily I was with someone who had a little bit more experience than I did. We quickly come up with what we was going for and we were on our way. All in all it was a great experience. I'm glad I had a chance to come to the famous Gino's Steaks!

We had a Geno’s versus Pat’s taste test, while they are certainly very close, Geno’s came out as the winner. The roll was just slightly softer, but overall they were both delish!

I really prefer the fries here! I'm not big on the crispy fries... they were polite and quick with our order. Must visit more..

Flew in to Philly to visit family for the holidays and our first stop was at Geno’s. Had to get my cheese steak fix. There were four of us and we got everything from steak Sammy with no cheese, “wit whizâ€, with fried onions, with mushrooms. Crew was patient and friendly even though when the place is packed you’re expected to know what you want and shout it out loud and fast. Prices are still great -$10 for an iconic Philly Cheese Steak with a crisp roll and lots of history and character. A gem of an experience that should never be taken for granted.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST place for cheesesteaks in Philly! I always drive hours out of my way to eat here! I personally would recommend it over Pat's across the street, I've tried both multiple times and I always enjoy Gino's much more! Highly recommend MUST TRY! Also MUST try it with the whiz cheese!

Geno’s is better than Pat’s. From start to finish. Geno’s uses much better bread, they use much larger portions of steak, which have better spices in them. Lastly, and quite possibly most importantly, the cheese Whiz is far superior to that of Geno’s next door neighbor. Geno’s has mastered the art of crafting cheesesteaks, quite handedly. Will be returning.

Great place for a famous and original Phili Cheese Steak, it is a must when visiting Philadelphia. Expect a 20 minutes line during the weekends, but it is totally worth it. They take cash only, so make sure to bring cash with you. They also have fries and drinks. And they only have outside seating.

One of my fav memories of visiting this beautiful city! Great food!! Totally worth standing in line. Best bread!

What can you say about Geno's steaks? It's a Philadelphia institution and a hot rivalry with Pat's across the street. As for me, I rather enjoyed my steak without, topped in provolone and hot off the grill. Everyone says the biggest problem with either of these restaurants is the line, but I found the secret. If you go at 10:00 in the morning on a Monday in February, surprisingly, no line. Perhaps eating a cheesesteak in 40° weather isn't top of their marketing plan, but that didn't stop the cheese steak from being great. The fries, crispy and golden. The service with a smile. I'll definitely be going back next time I'm in Philly.

Quick and delicious. Perfect late night food spot, for me. Make sure you visit this location.

Nice place to have some delicious stuff. The place was cool and the environment was superb. The food they serve was yummy and fresh. If i talk about the staff was very sincere and their communication was nice. So as per my personal experience i would like to give this place 5 star also would like to recommend.
Michael Colona
Cheesesteaks were good I would not say they were the best in the city but they were an enjoyable and good overall Philly cheesesteak
Remarkable Review
Definitely a place you should try at least once. Yes, they have a long line, but they do a pretty good job with their rotation and getting customers in and out. My sandwich with great, I believe its because I opted for the Steak Milano with extra cheese. Hubby tried the Mushroom Steak but it was super dry. He ended up eating half of mine so he was happy. Only general con was that the seating and condiment station is outdoor so flies and insta come with the territory. Personal con for me that I'll mention is that the staff wasn't really friendly at all. Maybe because they stay busy and just want people in and out, but a thank you and a smile go a long way.

I love Geno's. I was in Philly on business and couldn't leave without going there. You can't go to Philly and not get an authentic Philly cheese steak! Yummy

For as much hype and tradition I really wasn't impressed. Maybe because I didn't grow up on them, but it really did not have much flavor. And for what it costs just for a basic cheese steak I was really anticipating something that really popped out . Make sure also you bring cash, no cards accepted.

I came all the way from Indiana to get a real Philly Cheesesteak and I was truly disappointed. I've had better ones elsewhere. The bread was almost rubbery and hard to bite into. The sandwich was dry and had very little meat. There wasn't much cheese either. It was more onions than anything. And for almost $12 I expected better. But at least I can now mark it off the bucket list. The cheese fries were really good so that was a plus.

Excellent roll, delicious fresh steak, no leakage, wrapped nicely, clean, and FREE BBQ Sauce! Thank you Geno's for your continued wonderful service and commitment to the south Philly community

The food is good but the service was terrible. They need a new Multicultural staff cuz I honestly felt stereotypes against. I’d never go there again.
Moose Aiken
Horrible! The customer service was bad, borderline rude. Most importantly the food was the worst! There was no seasonings, they don't have the ability to toast the bread. The "steak sandwich" had no sauce, or condiment of any kind what so ever. It literally tasted like eating cardboard! I don't write reviews but I would not want anyone else to go through such a terrible experience. Oh and they where very expensive. I have no problem paying but it wasn't worth $2 let alone the $25 that I paid for two sandwiches.

Was just okay. Bread was good. Meat needed more flavor than just the onions and government cheese whiz. I've had way better for all this hype and waiting.
Marcy A.
I don't eat red meat and haven't had it in over a year. However, travelling from NY i ate half of a sandwich and the cheese fries. Fries were really good.

Drove from Queen's NY and got a very tasty sandwich. Gonna do it again

I love love love coming from Germantown Ave to Geno's for that special steak and fries always the best

I went over the course of a couple of days to both Pat's and Geno's. I like the steak better from Pat's but I like the bread from Geno's better. My perfect cheese steak would be Geno's bread with Pat's filling. But Geno's on it own is a very good sandwich.
Wanderlust
Definitely a tourist trap. Their claim to fame is purely the rivalry with Pat's. Staff is rushed and borderline rude. The steak was overcooked and super tough. Definitely not worth the hype sadly. Maybe we just hit during a slow period where they slipped but won't be back.

Gino's, and Pat's across the street are probably the two most popular cheesesteak spots in Philly along with a few others. But if your not from Philadelphia, and you are on vacation, or here for a sporting event, or just here for business, most likely you will be disappointed. I'm always asked where Pat's and Gino's is located from out of towners, and then have to explain to them that there are about 10 or so much better places to get a cheesesteak. But I do get asked every now and the WHO Makes the BEST!! Well, since I'm not here trying to go public and tell you who my top few pics would be. I will tell you at least one. And that would be JOHN'S on Snyder Ave. Also in South Philly. So with all the hype with Actors, Musicians, and athletes lining up to get one of these famous cheesesteaks, think again. But then again I could be wrong.

Fresh and delicious Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches! Service was fast n staff was friendly. Came all the way from New York! Worth the drive!
Timothy Mercure
Regular chip steak is better and they'll put the condiments on to somewhere else not at Gino's or Pat's though eat at a regular cheesesteak joint its better

Visited Philadelphia for work and heard about fame Philly Cheese steak. Geno's was highly recommended by the locals. A little pricy but delicious Philly Cheese Steaks. Way better than the cheese steak chain we tried the other day.
Robert Carr
We did the Geno's vs Pat's while we were in Philadelphia. I stood in line at Geno's and my wife stood in line at Pat's. We got one of each and tried half of each one. We determined that Geno's was the best. Pat's wasn't bad but Geno's was way better. The meat was tender and the bread was a lot better. Great sandwich. Would definitely go back here when in Philadelphia.
Teddy Randall
Its ok. For me personally its a little bland. I like flavor. Either you love it or hat it. But it definitely is a place to stop at
Jackie Wallowitch
Tonight the won the battle of the cheesesteaks. Great balance of cheese and steak... the onions could have been cooked a smidge more but overall great late night snack.
Eric G
Had the philly steak with whiz. Great taste, quick service. Curbside so Covid 19 wasnt an issue, with enjoying this sandwich. Worth the trip.
Debby Donnelly
Amazing Cheesesteaks but order quickly.. there are crowds and they move the line quickly ..
Cal's Calzones
Truly one of the best cheese steaks, it lives up to the hype. Even when it's just for takeaway, all the food is delicious!
Kelly Aeschlimann
Definitely amazing! I did love the competitor too 😜 but both were unique and delicious! My boyfriend and I actually ordered one from each place and shared them since they are unique in their own ways. I had never been to Philly and now I’m in love! 😂 definitely worth the trip to Genos!

Service is awesome even when they are busy. Next time I'll be back with my coworkers. It has a cool feel to it. I see why this place has so many good reviews.
John Simpson
Thought it was great. Steak sandwich was very good. But, it's not the best steak I've ever had. Still, it's a must see if your in Philly.
Tracy Waters
Drove from D.C to go see what the hype was about. The service was great and fast glad there was no line.. But as far as the cheese steak it was just ok..
Sam Edwards
Nothing fancy but Much better than the competition across the road.Nicely toasted bun, just the right amount of Properly sautéed onions, served quickly and without a fuss.CASH ONLY!If you are in Philly, why not?
